Art, I believe, transcends the purely decorative. It whispers hidden stories, ignites emotions long dormant, and possesses the power to transform not just spaces, but our very perspectives. A Prophetic Sketch: Unveiling the Unseen
One such instance, like a forgotten inscription whispering truths from the past, came to me unexpectedly. Years ago, before I even considered myself a professional artist, I embarked on a challenge where each day we sketched a different character. Unbeknownst to me at the time, each sketch, while not intended to be a self-portrait in anyway, in retrospect illustrated different aspects of myself. Among the eclectic sketches emerged a simple yet potent portrait: a woman whose hair dissolved into a starlit sky. At the time, the concept was hazy, fueled by a childlike desire to "reach for the stars" and a vague yearning for something more.

Fast forward to today, and that seemingly abstract sketch reverberates with newfound meaning. As I flip through the visual reminders of my past, I realize I was, unknowingly, sketching my future. The woman reaching for the stars wasn't just a whimsical portrait; it was a prophetic glimpse into the artist I would become. The stagnant feeling I grappled with, the unspoken desire for deeper purpose, all manifested in those brushstrokes. It's a potent reminder that art isn't just a product of the present; it can be a window into the possibilities that lie ahead.

Art is often like this. It is a bridge between what can be and what it and it calls forth transformation. I am constantly amazed at the stories I hear of someone saying “I bought this piece because ___ and after I got it home ____ happened.”
This power to call forth the unseen is powerful. And it can be used for good or evil. I recently was reading a story of an artist who paints his nightmares and he has had several pieces of art returned to him because after getting them home, the collector said it just didn’t feel right. Of course it didn’t… its the wrong kind of energy!
For these reasons, my role, as I see it, extends beyond self-discovery. I strive to be an artistic weaver, crafting threads of hope and inspiration into tapestries that resonate with and inspire others. My art aim to paint dreams, not just onto canvases, but onto the hearts and minds of those who connect with my work. It's about reminding people of who they are, the strength they possess, the dreams that they hold and that the impossible is within reach.
